Introduction
Kamp Velebit is a family owned campsite which came to life in the early 2002. Some of the keywords that describe us include: robinsonic, laid-back, natural, robust, wild, good vibe, liberal, relaxed, budget, affordable, feel-good, inspiring, mystical and perfect 🙂 If you resonate partly or completely with any of these words then we are sure you will fit in just fine and perhaps you will love the place. We are happy to attract like-minded guests because it seems that the nature is perfect filter for people’s personality and characters.
A perfect day at Kamp Velebit goes like this…
You will wake up in the morning later than you planned becase the fresh mountain air will hypnotize your body and soul. After washing your face with the cold spring-like water you will probably decide to drink a lot of it which is a great idea. Actually you should drink our water as much as possible because it will revitalize your health and give you the best hydration nature can provide. After your tasty breakfast you will probably opt for hiking over many different trails. When you reach certain elevation, the beautiful view of Adriatic archipelago will keep you going further up and you will stop on many ocasions to take that perfect shot for your social media accounts and personal memories.
On your way back to the camp you will be hungry like a lion so you will probably cook something for lunch and take afternoon break to rest and reflect on your wonderful memories from hiking. When the sun starts to wear down your next activity will be swimming in the crystal clear sea. The journey from the camp to the sea will take you through Croatia’s most beautiful panoramic road overviewing the sea, islands and mountain peaks. At this point it is important to concentrate and keep your eyes on the road while taking a few stops at view points to take even more perfect shots. On the coast you will enjoy swimming, diving, sun bathing and smelling that Mediterranean scent coming from many different plants and vegetation. Timing of return is important because you want to catch that sunset from some points higher up and take even more perfect shots. At first you might feel nostalgic about leaving the sea area but trust us – the best feeling is only about to start. As you drive up the mountain being hot and sweaty, temperature will start to drop and the natural air conditioning will breeze over your skin invoking feelings of releif and relaxation.Â
Upon returning to the camp you will encounter completely different atmosphere and vibe compared to the morning. First you will take care of your hunger by grilling something tasty while drinking a beer. After dinner you can join other like-minded people that gather around campfire to visit about the meaning of beautiful life, perhaps some first-world problems and depths of the universe. After we turn off camp’s lights, a nightsky full of stars will spread above you making you wonder and enojy. Observing the Milky Way will inspire your dreams to come and you will fall in a deep deep sleeep of relaxation and space travel. The end of the perfect day…Â
